I became interested in photography at a young age, but more especially while serving in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1971. Seeing the beautiful sky while at sea was an inspiration for me to capture images mostly using a 35 mm camera and slide film. When possible I took photographs of everything from shooting during combat operations in and off of the coast of Vietnam, to the rescuing of victims of a ship sinking in the Sea of Japan.
